Success in life is determined by what you know and who you know.

Your network determines your Net worth.

This saying leads me to a date I had with a millionaire friend years ago during my last days in college.

It was one of the conversations that I cherish greatly. It happened on a Friday evening in Ternopil city, Ukraine.

For the sake of confidentiality, I will refer to my friend as Mike.

Mike is a rare gem,he’s financially intelligent and book smart with enough street credibility.

He is a handsome young man with an elongated face, full beards, white and sparkling dentition and a well built physique.

He is every lady’s dream guy.

On this fateful evening,Mike called that he would be visiting my city to spend a night. I was elated to host him, because every moment with Mike is priceless.

Few hours after his call, he called again to inform me that he is in town. His train had just arrived at the train station.

Of course, I have been waiting for him at the train station. So I did not hesitate to pick his call and inform him that I am at the station.

Full of smiles on his face, we hugged and moved straight to the taxi.

Podolany, I said to the taxi driver and he smiled as he could read the excitement on my face.

In less than 10minutes, we were at the shopping mall. I paid the taxi guy and  we walked majestically into the shopping mall like the mayor of the city.

We did some shopping before heading to the best restaurant in the mall where they’ve got the best steak in town.

We made our order and started having some catch up discussion.

Here are some of the highlights of my conversation with him.

2. PEOPLE ARE YOUR LADDER TO GO UP IN LIFE

3. NEVER FEEL TOO BIG TO ASK FOR HELP

4. IDEAS WITHOUT FINANCE WILL LEAD TO ANNOYANCE, THEREFORE SEEK TO GET FINANCE

5. INVEST IN WHAT YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT.

His words were so precious and rich that they left an indelible mark in my heart that day.

Indeed you are the average of those you spend your time with.

My association with Mike changed my view about success.
